Well, since I started this (popular?) thread, I guess I should help keep it alive.

Just yesterday, in search for "props" I went to the store and spent a little over $4.00 for different fruits. The one I paid 13 cents for was the one I ended up using for my submission.

Now I have all this fruit to eat!

Going to the fruits & veggies challenge, I spent 13$ this time around but it sure was a tasty challenge...I just finished eating the props today and I had my photo done on Wed night!

For the Negative Space challenge: I've spend practically nothing except for a few cents for the petrol on my bike & electicity for my computer (if tht's considered part of the cost)... =) I happened to be at the right time & right place .

I spent $25 for negative space. I didn't have any glasses that I liked, I didn't have any black posterboard, and I didn't have the lighting i wanted. These will all be reused in the future, so it's not really a 'single' challenge expense :)

I spent a lot of time throwing out all the junk in my refrigerator, does that count?

On an average (or high/low costs), how much do spend in preparation for a challenge shot?

To date (only 4 challenges) I have spent $0.00. A lot of time and energy, but no money.

$6.99 for a cheap bottle of wine for my latest entry. That's about it.
Looking back, my most successful four images were all taken with
things I had around or found. I don't want to go into how much
the props for .this
one cost though

I usually just take pictures where I can find them I don't really have the room to set up a studio in my house.
