Driving around the country I saw many businesses with personal names in them, for example: Bubba's Garage; Nancy's Nails; and, Ken's Restauraunt. Many of these were in picturesque settings and other's were abandoned or dilapidated. It would be fun to see pictures of a large number of businesses with your personal name in them. It would make you feel like a plutocrat. Could also make a good birthday gift or calendar. |

There's a steel plant here called Moss Fabrication (my last name is Moss). It pretty much sums up my life: fabricated. hahahaha

I don't think anyone would call his company "Gilles Enterprises" or anything alike. I'm really glad I got a nickname :)

Why? Do you pronounce it "guile-less"? |

I think this is a good idea for a challenge. But to be fair don't require the entry to bear the photg's name. Some people would be left out.
Many years ago I once saw a place called Harvey's Heavenly Haven. It was a combination marina/general store/beer joint down South. I went back several years later and it had morphed into a self-storage place with no hint of poor Harvey's demise.

Hmmmm.... there used to be a "Debbie Does Donuts" shop up north of here -- wonder if it's still around? |

When I started this thread, I was thinking of any business with a first name in it. Doesn't have to be your name. |

That's a good idea bythebay. But why not broaden the challenge to anything that contains a first name? Anything that's not a name sign (you know, those you can buy in souvenir shops).

With the last name of BACON would Oscar Mayer Bacon work? I could just shoot the freezer section of my grocery store. Course then there's Scott's Turff Builder, Scott's paper towels...probably to far of a stretch. |

Once again sabphoto, I was thinking of the challenge being to photograph businesses with a first name within the business name. For example, Bill's Garage or Sadie's Restaurant. |
