First off people may not bother to make comments if you don't bother to tell them something about the picture. filling in all the data fields helps and don't leave the photographers comments as N/A if you can't be bothered then why should they?

I think this is an excellent shot - care to tell us about it?

Terron... enter and win a DPC challenge. That gets a lot of comments. :)

Make them stop. Find things that stop you and share the images.
If you are in a studio, break all the bulbs.

Mmmm, perhaps he means DURING the challenge, when all these fields are not visible :)

EDIT - Upon re-reading the original post, maybe not. Sorry. :)

I worship a false idol for comments. You remember those wonderful little troll dolls from the 80's with the fuzzy hair? I have one on my desk that I pray to often. It doesn't usually reap the blissful reward of comments on my photos, but it helps me not be afraid of trolls. Wait, I have had a lot of troll votes lately.... Hmmmmm.... I need a new idol.

Seriously, just ask people for comments, you'll get them.

If the image is for a challenge it must be either extremely good, or extremely poor to get comments.

If you just want feedback on an image - do what you just did and post to a forum under 'Individual Photograph Discussion' with a thumbnail of the image.

Also, as Ecce pointed out - make sure you have some comments/info about the image in the comments section available. What is it, what kind of feedback do you want, etc...

Good luck, and have fun!
