Rather than hijack the classy thread, I thought I'd create one for the other side of the coin.
Let's start with this one:
Who brought us the Pacer
and the Gremlin

From someone that makes their living working on cars:
Isuzu, Kia, Deawoo, Mitsubishi (Aisan Imports)
Saturn (Domestic)
All the above are due to the lack of decent and timely repair parts, manufacturers not having decent and accurate repair information to the independent shops, and simply because you can fix them today, and they will be back tomorrow for something else, then something else, then something else, and the consumer "always" feels it's the mechanic's inability to fix it right. |

How could I forget the Trabant.. "The plastic nightmare"
I heard it was really made with old rags and linen soaked with horse glue. It ought to win here. |

Ford.
I had a two-year-old Ford Aspire for exactly two years (it was four years old) and it was a complete lemon. The thing died on the road several times with the same unfixable problem. I'll never ever buy a ford again.
Bought a Toyota (rated most reliable) and haven't had a problem with it in over seven years! |

Newer ones are good. Pre-1996'ish aren't. |
