Just curious. Has anyone done a study on this?

Anecdotally, I have noticed significant differences. I think people who have cameras - specifically ones who enter the challenges - appreciate the difficulties in creating a great shot within the constraints.

I've done a study on this from my Abandonned Bldgs photo:

Avg (commenters): 6.955
Avg (camera): 5.896
Avg (no camera): 5.500

Conclusions:

1. People who leave comments are wise & wonderful.
2. People with cameras who don't comment are marginal.
3. People without cameras are the scum of the earth.

This also works in reverse I've found. What can LOOK really cool in a photo also looks difficult to those without a camera so they will score it higher than those with cameras who know how easy it is to shoot in burst mode to capture that right moment. ;^)

Wow, you're right. I'm not sure of the value of that information.

...and yet, I think it should be expanded to include:

Those without cameras who drink
Those with cameras who drink
Those without cameras who don't drink
Those with cameras who don't drink
Those without cameras who drink and don't care
Those with cameras who drink and don't care
Those without cameras who don't drink and do care
Those with cameras who don't drink and do care

Free blue ribbon if you can guess the name of the movie that inspired that list... :)

Just out of curiosity are there photos, where "non-camera owners" have voted really high and "camera owners" really low, or other way around?

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

"those who hang from the rope and those who do the cutting"
"those who come in by the door and those who come in by the window"

hmm ?

Sorry, nope. But ironically close in a weird way.

I'll give a clue - it is actually from a movie within a movie.

Time Zup! :(

Maybe too obscure or maybe it's my age. The inspiration came from a spoof of Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon" called "Fistful of Yen" which was in Kentucky Fried Movie (John Landis 1977).

When I was about 15, I saw a double feature with "Enter the Dragon" followed by just the "Fistful of Yen" part of Kentucky Fried Movie and it was HIGH-LARIOUS ...at the time anyway. The scenes in the spoof match so closely, but with massive parody.
