Does anyone have any experience photographing and lighting glass ie windows shower screens doors sculpture..
In particular glass which has art or texture in it basicly 'rough' making it less transparent than usual

i cant really answer your question but i guess it might be helpful to clarify a bit... are you trying to photograph the actual glass itself? or through the glass? or against it? I think such a clarification might help.

You need to be off-center to avoid reflections, and you need to position your lights so that none of them (or a distracting background) is reflected in the glass from the point of view of the camera.
If they are smallish objects, look into the concept of a "soft-box" for even lighting. If they're installed in a building, I think you'll just have to check various camera angles and positions until you find the best one. |
