I was going through some boxes yesterday, throwing some stuff out in preparation for my big move. I've been holding onto two magazine articles about Brian Setzer for nearly 10 years now, and I just rediscovered them yesterday. I've finally scanned them so I can throw away the hard copies. At the time I was flabbergasted. Now, knowing what I know about Photoshop I suppose it's not that surprising, though I do consider it quite lucky that I happened to find these two articles in two separate magazines, released so close to one another in date. I wonder if anyone else happened to see these two photos. The first is from a radio industry magazine, the second is from a very well known music magazine which I shall not name. I suppose photojournalistic integrity doesn't matter in music :)
Here are the photos in question.

Took a moment to figure out what was interesting about those photos - but you are right! If 10 years old, then that is quite impressive (though trouser leg on 2nd photo is a bit dodgy, and where did that hand come from?) Funny that it should be published in 2 formats from same photo.

For the sake of ease, from left to right in the original photo: Joe Strummer (formerly of the Clash), Phil Ramone (seated), Dave Kaplan and Brian Setzer. The hand on the console was Strummers left hand in the original photo (on Ramone's shoulder), lifted, flipped and put on the console. Also notice the background behind Strummer and the background behind Setzer were "brought together", the space between their legs was manufactured from the upper right of the original shot, and Strummer's got a collar on the left side that he didn't originally have. Not to mention Setzer is given the hand of Dave Kaplan, and it's obviously way too big for him!
These articles were printed just before/during the time that Brian Setzer's "Guitar Slinger" CD was released, which was in 1996.

Yeah I was pretty surprised when I first saw it. I'm a huge Setzer fan so I would've kept the articles anyway, but I kept them all this time primarily because of the editing. I know I couldn't do that clean of a chop even now.
On the topic of Photoshopping, has anyone seen this guys work?
