Thought this might give some people a little chuckle.
This just shows you how engrossed a person can get in viewing and voting on the beautiful images that the high caliber talent pool submits around here :-)
I was just going through doing some voting on the 'Apple' challenge, and anyways, after viewing several shots I was thinking, man, there's an awful lot of out of focus, blurry shots in this bunch. What's up with that? So then, I got up to get some more water(to drink) and looked around and thought, man, there's an awful lot of out of focus, blurry stuff in my house. What's up with that? I realised as I took off my glasses, that I had put a big smudge on the lens!!!
So I cleaned my glasses and thought, well the stuff in my house looks ok now, I better go back and re-evaluate those photos I just voted on. Luckily, I hadn't done too many yet, and yes, they did look much better the second time around :-)
Man, I am such a 'honyak' !
Anyways, I'm finding quite a few really good shots in the bunch, as usual.
Sorry for the interruption, you may all return to your regularly scheduled programming at this time.
:-D

LOL, I know how you feel. The very first paying (and the only) photo gig I had I took six rolls of film before I realized that I wasn't wearing my glasses. Oops. Good thing I still had another 6 rolls of film to shoot WITH them on. The client never knew though. Whew! This was back in the late 1980's. |

LOL:))I've done the same thing in the past - the blurring helps though when you look in the mirror;) |

Hey Nathan, just left a comment on your 3 flowers pic on your profile page. I'm curious, since I'm strongly considering the s5100 (if I can find the means), did you shoot that with the cameras macro mode?

Thanks you for the comments. It was actually a serendipitous photo. I didn't even realize they were there until I went outside to play with my daughter. I immediately stopped playing and grabbed the camera and tripod.
Yes, I used the Macro mode (settings listed below). My camera was about 7 inches from the flowers (I think). Surprisingly enough they were in focus. It was a really windy day and these were outside between the neighbors yard and mine.
Exposure settings: Shutter Priority (because of the wind)
ISO: 200
Metering Mode: Spot
Speed: 1/1024
Shutter: f/3.6
Focal Length: 22mm
Time: 1:30pm 24-April-2005 |

Hah! So it was you Taterbug! No, just kidding "ALL" my photos are in focus ;)
I was really glad to see a setting for the viewer in my camera for people who use reading glasses, sure helps a lot.
