Challenge: Shakespeare
Take a unique photograph depicting a line from one of the Bard's plays or sonnets.
Extra rule: Title must be the line illustrated.
What do ya'll think?

Some of the titles now are pretty long...
Anyway, you'd just need a short snippet, not the whole shebang.
"All the world's a stage"
"To be, or not..."
"What light through yonder window..."
Stuff like that.

I have the complete works and the three witches from Macbeth are what first came to mind.

Hey, as long as it can be tied to a line...
Besides, I think some of the best photos show up in free studies. This would just have some *minor* restraints - and maybe not even then if you can figure out a line to go with it!

Of those two, Mel Gibson. Kenneth Branagh doesn't give me the right impression for Hamlet though I haven't seen that version of the movie.

No more of a Free Study than the movie titles challenge shortly after I joined. I'm all for it, I think it's a fine idea. I've thought about proposing a challenge based on any line of poetry, and others have sugested song titles I believe...

Branagh gave a decent performance, but the style they chose to take with the play was very cold and distant. I didn't feel like it had the 'in-your-face' emotional impact of the Mel Gibson version.
Frankly, both actors are, IMHO, too old for the part. Hamlet should be Orlando Bloom or thereabouts in age.
Back on topic, I just had a thought. Would SC have to verify that the line being protrayed is definately Shakespearean? Or would it be taken on faith?
Argh. Now I'm coming up with a reason this might be a problem challenge.

My fav rendition of the Bard is a tape of Richard Burton playing King Lear copied off of PBS.
