I've been doing photoshoots for friends recently and have had some great results.

These are my favorites from a shoot with my friend Amy's roomate, Irene. I forgot to ask her not to wear bright clothes, so I had to fight with the brightness of the white shirt and pink pants when post-processing. Some of them (like #4) couldn't even be saved by burning because they were too blown out.

1. 2. 3. 4.

Please! Let me know what you think and critiques are definately welcome!!!

(#2 I gave to her both in color and B&W, but the B&W is my favorite of the two)

They all came out very well. Number one is my favorite for its unique angle. Come to think of it, you have them in the order of how well i like them. All four have wonderful facial expressions that appear very natural. Not too much you can do about the blown out shirt. Number 3 could use a minor rotation to make even with the pole along the left. I'd say you're off to a great start. Hope my early attempts come out this well.

Nice job. I like #1 too because it's a bit different. She's very photogenic, you should try to work with her again.

Thanks everyone!

#1: The angle is actually an idea I got when I did another shoot about two months before this one. Here's the shot:

It's in the same place, but Irene was closer to me and I don't know if it was the lighting or the chips had actually changed, to give it that nice red color in the back.

When it came to angles I try to play a lot during shoots. I don't like doing just the normal head and body shots, I like to play with the model and get some fun shots. ^_^

#2: I purposely brought my friend Amy, who's her roomate, with me to hold reflecting paper, but also to help "distract" Irene and make her laugh to get the natural expression. I've brought Amy with me to a couple shoots now and it's really helped me relax as well as help distract the models. ^_^

#3: Rotation...I thought about it, but it's because I was below her and then the bar that her hands are resting on would be uneven, which, when my (c) isn't on there, would be very irritating...

Thanks everyone! She was actually my first non-cosplay and non-friends shoot so it was kinda nerve-wracking to do. ^^;; She actually asked me for the shoot after seeing some candid "portraits" I've taken of my other friends and during it I discovered she'd been a cheerleader, which, at least to me, helped explain why she was so comfortable posing and smiling on cue. ^_^

Lol, and after seeing the results of this shoot she's asked for another one in the fall and will pay me (she offered this last time but I declined cause I felt uncomfortable, never having done a shoot like this before).

Okay, stopping now! ^_^

Thank you all very much for the comments and critiques!

(SJCarter I responded on the pictures so as not to take up space here. ^_^)
