Evening All;

I am new to DPChallenge and digital photography in general. I have a Fugi FinePixS7000 camera, and I have been shooting primarily 6M images. When imported from i-photo into Photoshop 6.0 the images are roughly 30*40 inches and 17.5 M. I want to produce both the correct sized challenge images (sorry for this week's image everyone), and the largest/highest quality of printable file. I know I am asking a ton of questions. If you don't have the time to type of advise just send me links to pages you have found helpful. Thank you.

In Photoshop, you should be able to select "pixels" as one of your measurements in the Mode:Image Size menu. That will let you know the pixel size of your photos.

For saving in regards to the contest, there is a tutorial somewhere about Save for Web and optimizing the file size to 150k...I'll see if I can find it...very helpful.

The pixels option previously mentioned is great for figuring out aspect ratios when submitting to DPCPrints. Just remember to save your images using Save for Web, or the highest setting if you do a regular Save As.

Hope that helps. Shoot me an email of PM if you need more help.
