I saw my three year old girl playing with a soccer ball during a game that my six year old was playing in. The sun was setting & I thought... SILHOUETTE! I chased her around for a good ten minutes, trying to stay in her shadow, and took about twenty bad shots, but got this one in there.

It is definitely VERY difficult to get an action shot with my P&S camera. I have to lock the focus and then hit the shutter about half a second ahead of time. And it's really tough to follow any action through that little screen.

So, I'm very proud of this shot:

Taken on the weekend at a dog agility show. Liked how this one turned out. It was a fairly dark day so bit difficult getting a decent shutter speed and a lot of the shots didn't work out as well as I'd hoped they would.

I remember both ducks were diving sporadically so I had to catch em both together, it took a while but I got there eventually.

Caught this early one evening last month, the moon was low with a lot of atmospheric distortion, then this plane flew across the moon. I managed to get five shots off before it flew off.

I caught this picture during the Shamu show at the Sea World in San Antonio, TX last year. I would have liked had I got the whole of Shamu in the photograph, but I really wanted to concentrate on the diver at the peak of his jump.

Took this one (with my sony P8 set to 'Action' mode) laying on my back below an 10-foot aerial ramp at Okemo, in Vermont. A bystander was supposed to give me a countdown for my friend's approach, but he completely forgot to do so. I pushed the shutter anyway, and managed to get my friend dead-center frame, at the peak of his tail grab. I guess more lucky than good timing, but it still took a certain amount of judgment re: when to release the shutter as I saw him enter my perspective.

The flight images were done using burst mode. The others were just about patience and waiting for the right moment to click the shutter.

This one's already been in the forums this week, so apologies to anyone who's seen it:

And here's one from a while back:

I think the timing in THIS photo was rather remarkable...

While this may not seem to be perfect timing //www.sabphotography.com/gatlinburg_tn.htm I almost drove right past the spot where this was takin. My wife and I were going to a nature perserve and thought it was too late to get a sunrise but decided to stop anyway...then as I was getting out the gentleman finishing up told me to move down some to catch the mist. I did adjust the temp some.

Enjoy, its my new favorite.
