Hey, I have the Pelican 1300 case for my camera. It fits the camera grip, the camera, lens, extra battery, hood (snugly) and extra card if necessary. If your bro is planning on buying another lens, don't get him the 1300, the next one up or two up would be excellent. I tie mine onto the top of my kayak and go! Fabulous cases! Excellent birthday present!!

Cheers,

Simon

Butting in here... but, what's a "Pelican case" and why do I need one?

(I know I could "google" the first part of the question, but the quality of the answer would be compromised by the big goo's inability to explain part II.)

thanx

I have a Pelican Case 1520 with Foam (grey) that I use on the back of my motorcycle for travel.

Search google, or pelican's website, probably the best hardshell case for anything ever made!

The military use them, so come on!, lol
