P.S. Closer: vacuous and glib. Some real dialogue and real situations involving paper dolls.

This seems like one of those hate-it-to-go-against-the-majority / my-favorite-movie-didn't-score-any-nominations statements.

And vacuous and glib don't describe the emotional character hooks. We all have our opinions though, just as I have mine.

wow

City of God was amazing

The Bridges of Madison County is another good one .BTW The main character in "Blowup " is loosly based on David Bailey who is still at the top of the tree.

Lord Litchfield has appeared (as himself) in several movies and also had a guest role in "Casualty" a Britich soap.

The Crush (1993) - the girlfriend is a photographer. She is killed in her darkroom if I am not mistaken.

Point of No Return (1993) - Starring Bridget Fonda. I believe her boyfriend's hobby is photography.

I just tought of one, Milos Forman's The people vs. Larry Flint. I love that speech he gives the photographer... "Rudy! Are you a religious man?..."
Also Edward Norton was fabulous as the lawer.

She takes up photography as a hobby in the movie and begins to make money with it... it's really a sweet story, very much a chick flick, but sweet. :o)
