I had two good shots, I think, for the Your Corner of the World contest. One was the one I submitted Dixie Milling Company which I think was a better shot technically. The other, Oasis at the Old Mill , was a more interesting subject, although I think I had to introduce the first photo to relay the interestin in the second. What do you think? Please post comments either here or at PhotoSIG.
Thanks,
Mark
PS I apologize if the above contains any run-on sentences. It is late, and I can't really sift through all that code up there in the links.

I think you certainly made the right choice. I much prefer Dixie, but I can't put me finger on why. Maybe its the interesting shapes.

I personally like the second one more! It's more friendly, more personal... it's the oasis which make me smile! Technically I think, are both good, can't see a huge difference! As I said, emotionally, I'd like the second more...

Im sorry but I prefer your second shot. It has more of a subject about it - something to look at. I thought your submission wasn interesting to look at but lacked a focal point. Your second shot is also a little more human - a little more personal.

I liked the second one as well. The Oasis kind of jumped out at me as I scanned the shot. It made me smile in a surprised sort of way. I like the colors in it as well. |

No need to apologize Floyd-John. You and all the others have just confirmed what I thought in the first place. Always trust the first instinct and trust the voters to like the good stuff. Thanks for the input!
