Yeah good to see you all reporting in OK again.

Reports are saying the bags contained devices similar to the bombs from 2 weeks ago, but that this time they didn't go off, just the detonators this time.

Stay safe all of you.

I think they all didnt go off cuz the same idiot made all the bombs. Look like he failed his course at Al-Q University.

Which mosque? Where did you hear this?

Here is a picture taken by one of my colleagues just out side his apartment. He was off sick yesterday when the incident happened.

he's dead.

but wait.. wouldnt shooting someone possibly wearing explosives be.. bad?

One of the news articles reckons they would have gone for a head shot.
07/22/2005 07:51:57 AM · #187
Hmmm, they better have a great reason for killing that guy.
07/22/2005 12:44:25 PM · #188
Witness said he was floored by plain clothed Police and shot 5 times in head, nothing found on him, but a suspect from previous days bombimgs who ran from the Police when followed.
We shall wait for the full reports

I don't want to come to premature conclusions here, so I won't. But this concerns me.

What if this was some guy carrying a bag of weed who got scared and ran when the police approached him? 5 shots to the head?

Sorry, life does not go on as normal...no matter what any Londoner says to make themselves feel better.

If you run from armed police after repeated warnings in the current climate, then I'm afraid the outcome is not altogether surprising.

If he had been carrying something that looked like a detonator then fair go. If they had warned him and he ran and exploded a bomb then the police would be criticised for that too. Not many winning combinations it seems.

Exactly. You are stoopid if you run from police in today's climate in London...Sorry but no sympathy for you if you get shot.

Would have to agree with others. In todays climate, if you run from police after repeatedly ask you to stop, you are wearing a winter coat in mid July, and you run onto a tube train..

Hey guess what?! You are probably going to get shot.

Also, they have repeatedly said this guy was under surveillance and linked to the ongoing bombing investigations not only of yesterday but of tragic July 7th.

Londoners ARE going on as usual, just having to readjust their routes! The underground is running and used, the buses are being used, everyone is at work as usual and everyone is going out as usual.
ok everyone is being more aware but in what other way is it different? The police are rather busy and seem to be getting results which is great so sorry no real problem!

I'm just referring to the police's ability to use deadly force on suspicious looking individuals, very much like they used to be able to do in response to individuals who were suspected to be part of the IRA.

That's my point. Life doesn't just go on as normal. To believe so is to suck up a platitude.

Sorry, but this comment is very saddening in light of the fact that the London police admit they made a mistake. I have nothing but sympathy for Jean Charles de Menezes and his family.

'Desperate times call for desperate measures'...indeed.

Live your lives as normal, Londoners.

Shot man not connected to bombing
