I am going to buy a Canon Rebel XT. As many of you know, there are many packages available on various web sites. What would you recommend for two good lenses to get started with? I am just an amateur photographer, nothing fancy, but I'd like to try to get a little more creative in my photography. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. You can respond to my home e mail:

Thanks.

Not knowing what it is that you like to photograph, I'd suggest getting the camera with the kit lens to begin with and, based upon your use of it, look for an additional lens after that. You may find, for instance that you require a long telephoto or an extremely wide angle lens. You can, after all, sell the kit lens on eBay for not much less than you effectively pay for it and buy your two lenses after that.

I wouldn't recommend any "kits" that you see. Often they are just collection of cheap accessories that you probably won't like, so they can pad the price and make more money off of you.
Unless you want the kit lens, I'd only recommend buying the following as an initial purchase. The Camera Body, a lens to fit your needs, a fast 1GB or higher CF card (if you don't have one already).
You have to decide what you want to do with the camera and buy the accessories appropriate for it.
For example, for night photos; a good tripod, cable release, a good lens. For wildlife, perhaps a monopod and a nice telephoto lens. For portraits, maybe a nice flash, and a lens for portraits. For macro, a macro lens, a ring flash, and a tripod.
Good luck
