OH this thing is a beast.
Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8
DROOL...oh and it's porring down rain, so no play time.
EDIT: added test shots...
Taken in my back yard (it's raining still, light is horrible. These are at 200mm, 1/60 and 1/80 of a second, hand-held (LOL) at f/2.8. Only post is auto levels. ISO 800 if it looks noisy.

OH it is sorta heavy, but what can you expect. The build quality feels excellent.

the shots look very promising! Backround blur is fun with this length/apeture kinda lens.

Congrats deapee with your new glass and sure it is a great one. It is almost possible to win a ribbon with it!

heh...thanks.
Heck, I won a ribbon with the Canon EF 75-300 f/4-5.6.
I'm so stoked to head out with this thing. There sure isn't going to be anything remote related to 'inconspicuous' while walking around with this thing.
It's neat how everything's internal -- the lens doesn't go in/out as you zoom, and nothing moves outside as you focus.

Nice...
But in that photo there appears to be something wrong with the lens, there is a huge hole down the center of it! :-).
I assume you'll have the same loving relationship with this as us Canon folks have with our 70-200 F/2.8's...
Cheers, Me.

shots here: //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=248017
why is it like that down the center? Maybe because it was only zoomed to 80mm and it's all internal I'm thinking?
