Yesterday two things happened.

1 - I did a portrait shoot for a family
2 - I attended a seminar by a $1.5 mil/year portrait photographer

The photographer who spoke at the seminar mostly talked about marketing schemes, successes versus failures; And, BRANDING photos (developing a look and feel that makes viewers think "I know who shot that").
She called her look "warm and fuzzy" or "emotional photography" and presents her clients with images via a wonderfully well produced slide show with music.
I took a stab at one of my family portraits from the session earlier yesterday and found that this warm & fuzzy treatment worked very well for this image. I don't plan to adopt the techniques used by the speaker but would like to find a "BRAND" that works best for me. Perhaps something similar to this...

Just thought I'd share.

Of course, or better - here is her website. Some amazing work there!

Abby of London

BTW, don't let the name fool ya, she lives here in Florida. :)

Hate to bump a thread, but hate more seeing a good site go by unnoticed. She specializes in pregnant women and babies, but does weddings and groups to get that business. Have a look.

Oh! And changing my business card title from Photographer to Photographic Artist / Superhero I just like the sound of it! :)

Very impressive work, even though I hate that type of Flash website. Not very interactive. Especially the Splash page.
I love the Watch me grow part. Did that for my boy's first year, every month though.

Oh I never said she was the best photographer, I said she's making $1.5 million a year! lol

She does mailings $8-10 each to 2500 ppl each month, claims high prices and word of mouth have done it all for her.
