Hey! I have about £350 spare to spend. I am looking to spend it on a macro lens and some more storage..

My first thought was a sigma 105mm macro and couple 512mb cards / 1gb microdrive. Some freinds are suggesting against both and recommending that I stay with canon 100mm macro and CF cards...

Please suggest some options and also if possible prices in UK / links from Ebay that will deliver to UK.

Not sure abouth the lens, but I would go for a CF card. Probably the Kingston Pro 1gb. It is £50 from Photo Scotland. I have purchased cards from them and the service and price was excellent.

Cheapest I can find the Canon 100mm macro in the UK is a £339, which wouldn't leave you much cash for additional storage. The Sigma 105mm macro is only £249, leaving plenty for some decent storage - £60 for 1Gb or £100 for 2Gb is not uncommon.

As for the lenses themselves, the sigma has some very favourable reviews, and although the AF hunts a bit in low light, most macro work is best done with MF, so shouldnt affect you that much...
