I don't know any others like this site

but I browse photosig, but i hate that place, it sucks so bad, haha.

i am very active at some messages boards that have a photography section, such as www.lazyfuck.net (am i allowed to say that word here?...alternate addy is www.strongwork.net) and also www.somethingleet.com/forum

edit: if you want to sign up for either of those sites, use my name as a reference :) (username: helpless --for both sites)

www.betterphoto.com is nowhere near as good as dpchallenge, but you can often get a comment or two on photos by entering their contests which are run monthly (with no date requirements). They have a number of general catgories (landscape, people, etc.) plus a monthly theme.

I would take some photos and enter a contest here on DPC. That would certainly keep you busy ! :)

i can never come up with photo's in time for the challenge :P i'm sure once i start my photo program at college i'll come up with some photos with my new camera. lol. is fotofight a good site or is it kinda sketchy? there seems to be a good vibe for DPC what with trusting photos won't get printed off without credit lol.

Fotofight was created by a former DPC member who essentially copied and/or stole large portions of this site. I think he's modified it a bit since then and a number of DPC members participate there, too. So I guess you'll have to determine the sketch factor yourself. :)

Can't believe i've never seen that site before... it's just a shoddier version of dpc, totally undisguised! Oh and they award cash prizes... oh dear oh dear.

I just left //www.deviantart.com I paid for a one month subscription and am I glad I didn't get a whole year. Talk about timeouts. Man it was never ending.

Also I do participate over at fotofight.com No more paying to winners though. It is ok but still kinda in the beginning stages.

One thing is for sure you will never get the sense of community and family that you get from DPC. This place is top notch IMO all the way around. I could go on and on and on and on and on.............

In deference to Sunniee, Photopoints site is nothing like DPC. The only similarity is that photographs are able to be seen on one's monitor.

i'm a huge flickr.com addict. there are groups there that discuss anything you want.

I have checked out fotofight.com, signed up for a free membership to see what i think..
-certainly it isn't the same level of site, as it is new and going through growing pains..
one bonus though..

I posted 13 shots yesterday and have way MORE viewings than on this site, and have been getting more comments too..this site is so big, i find most of my porfolio is not seen at all..so for awhile i will use both and see how it goes

I started with fotofight.com first, and I am much happier here. There are more people to learn from and compete with. I really don't feel like I have "won" if I get first out of only 30 entries. One thing really neat at fotofight is that the members create the contests.

I'm using fotofight as a testing grounds for DPC for the most part. I put up images that are pretty much love it or hate it(mostly hate it) and see what happens... just to figure out what voters like and to get better. I have to say that although I can't win at either, DPC has much better image quality than fotofight.

I don't think it can compete and certainly the contests won't mean as much..this is my primary site for sure, but I do like getting the viewings and comments..the contests well, there are just another chance to shoot..for instance, i am not interested in Nudes 3, nor Illusions etc. then at least i have a challenge, even if it doesn't mean much i can still work on challenging myself..

The problem with flickr is that once you put a shot up for public display you can't take it down. It's like it becomes their property and you lose control of it. Not my cup of tea.
