I am new to photography. I just bought a Kodak DX7590. Is this a decent camera. I am looking to do some good close ups and some neat outdoor pictures of old barns and storms like lightning. I also wanted to know what a good photoshop to use is. I am looking forward to submitting some work. Thanks. |

What's a "good photoshop to use"? You mean a good editing program? Photoshop is one, Paint Shop Pro, PhotoPaint (bundled with CorelDraw), the GIMP (free, open-source editor), there are others.
Photoshop itself is available in different levels. Current high-end version is CS2, Photoshop 7 is still available retail, Photoshop Elements is a lot less expensive and pretty capable.
Did your camera come with editing software? A lot of cameras ship with PS Elements.

Hi Todd :-)
Welcome to dpc!
I have that camera and so far I really like it. Of course for me, it is a huge step up from the old hp I was using. Feel welcome to browse my portfolio to see pics from that cam. My top scoring pics, and the pics that show on my profile page are all done with the Kodak, as well as some other stuff in my port.
If you have any questions about the cam or anything, feel free to pm me.
