How do I turn off the flash while in P mode?

I am not sure I have never used P mode...... But I do wonder now. |

If 350XT is the same as rebel/300D, the flash shouldn't pop up in P mode, only in Auto mode.

Having had a 350 for a week before my son "borrowed" it. I suspect that you are having the same difficulty that I experienced.
Your thumb is touching the fire the flash button on the back of the camerea. The advantages of the smaller body are offset by the closeness of all the twiddly bits. Hope this helps.

The flash button looks like it may be on the upper right corner of the camera with the lense facing you. I am not sure if it works as a traditional film slr but press the button and turn the dial on your right hand at the same time. until the display shows the lightning bolt with a line through it. |

Why not just shoot in Av or Tv or manual mode? You have more control that way.
