Hello all. I was hoping to get some insight with regards to NeatImage. I have PS 7.0 on my MAC and was curious which version is the best to get. Should I just get the plugin version for PS? Also, do people suggest the Home or Pro version? I tried to find forum posts from the past, but couldn't locate the answers that I'm looking for. I'd love to hear what people think as I can tell that it is a popular tool on this site. Also, anyone have any other suggestions for MUST HAVE software to get the most out of your images?
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Before you get any version, get the free demo. Also, there are other noise-reduction programs out there, some of which are completely free. I use one called PictureCooler which seems to work OK, has intuitive controls and an active preview, and can save as uncompressed TIFF. Only downside is it's Windows-only.
Search around at cnet.com for other options ...

I tried picture cooler once but was unhappy with it because it saved the images with a big, long yellow bar across it unless you purchased the full version.

If you decide to go with a paid version of noise software I recommend you look at Noise Ninja. I have found it easier to use than neat Image. |

I tried the demo and liked it a lot. Bought the povety stand alone 8 bit version. I am happy that I made a good choice and any extra work I need to do before getting a pic to a final form is minimal! |

Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone. I think I'll try to demo Noise Ninja and Neat Image and see what works best.
Happy shooting!
