When it is someoneâs birthday on this website, their age is automatically rolled over to the next year.
How about an announcement also being automatically posted onto the forum boards saying âHappy Birthday to so and so.â and their icon gets a little party hat put on it for 24 hours (or 7 days if it is a female, as they generally tend to celebrate birthday weeks!!!!).

That would be awesome. Then nobody's b-day would be missed. As it now stands, it's pretty much the "in" crowd that receives the b-day congrats.

That's kind of what I was thinking.
Nobody mentioned my birthday-sniff sniff :-)
Let's start the "out crowd" group

I would love to have a party hat during my birthday week!
BUT....I won't put my birthdate up unless I can omit the year.
:)

I am for it as long as we don't see people in their birthday suits

I'll bring the crooked cake!

I like the hat idea but with 44,127 registered users, automatic threads could make the forums kind of crowded. Not to mention the fact that we'd be celebrating people who signed up and never came back. Some kind of list or something might be nice, though.

Have a "Post Birthday" block in the profile, that way it shows up if you are active. If someone hasn't posted since their last birthday it is automatically unmarked.

There's something like 30,000 people registered here ... it's going to take a lot of room, or some fancy coding -- and a decision about "how inactive" someone has to be before you omit them.

A lot of people don't list their age in their profile, and it's my experience that many females aren't interested in advertising the fact that they are a year older, even for a minute -- much less for a week.

We're all "older" every day.
As I stated above, I don't mind my birthday being recognized, but I'm not going to tell you what I'm adding to.

I only have one birthday and that happend in 1974. I stopped really celebrating it when I turned 21.....Once I was legal to drink it was no fun anymore........I don't even drink now.

Either way my wife seems to make me a cake everytime.

Also my birthday was Tuesday....so if anyone wants to buy me a lense then pm me and I will throw out suggestions.
