Hi, I'm new to this forum and was hoping to get some quidance.
I need to get a new digital camera that I will use primarily to photograph fish in aquariums. This type of photography has several challenges and I did not want to have to research the vast number of cameras to find the one that will best fit my needs. Hopefully, someone out there has some knowledge on what might work best.
The challenges of my type of aquarium photography:
Focus: In a glass box, many cameras tend to focus on the glass or reflections. A good auto focus system is desireable.
Low light focus: Many shots do not have good light and adding light, frightens the fish. Therefore, low light focusing that is both quick and accurate would be nice. I'm photographing small fish that move quickly. I will use macro quite a bit and depth of field is very shallow.
Fish Movement: Most are constantly moving and the lag-time between when you press the shutter button and when the photo is actually taken, is too long. I need something that takes the photo very quickly after the shutter button is pressed.
Flash: I occasionally can use a flash, but most photos are with low light, no flash. When I do use a flash, the ones built into most cameras do not work well, due to relections they create.
I'm not concerning with megapixels. Price limit is $1500. Any recomendation? |
