For those wanting to buy a high quality LCD monitor with S-IPS panel technology (same technology used in the Apple Cinema Displays), as recommended by EddyG, Dell is having a sale on their Ultrasharp 2001FP and Ultrasharp 2005FPW monitors. The 2001 lists for $749 and with the coupon you get $225 off bringing it down to $525 (30% savings). The 2005 lists for $699 and with the 35% off coupon goes for about $455.

I can recommend the 2005fpw,in fact the screen is the exact same lcd panel as the Apple 20" Cinema Display - made by LG.Phillips. but Dell have put more inputs built in for other devices - consoles, TV's etc. the clarity is awesome, It may not be as aestheticly pleasing to the eye, but being almost a third cheaper than the apple range. It has my vote!.
same goes for the 2001 model too, although out of the two models I own, I would go the wide aspect any day. |

I received a similar deal alert to the one I am pasting below and bought the 2005FPW this past Friday night. Dell and UPS as a team can be amazingly efficient - this was a free shipping order placed after 6PM on Friday, and it already arrived this morning. Wow.
I am hoping this monitor lives up to the positive reviews I have read on it.
On a side note, Dealnews.com was very useful in keeping tabs on these good coupon codes and special offers. A few weeks ago I entered 2005FPW and it would email me the specials as it found them. The first few were for that monitor bundled with whole systems, but I finally scored on this one.
