I was under the impression that full frontal male nudity was against site rules? :D

I have a very good reflections shot, but took this just in case i wanted to enter the What challenge. I missed the winning shot - the pig was pooping just a few seconds before...a sure brown ribboner!

My What entry has been uploaded for a while now, I think it's slightly entertaining, and I'm excited to get the show on the road. Oddly, I'm also excited because I've never had a submission which "thumbnails" so well. We'll see if that helps in the end of challenge bumping, I wonder.

You know, I'm finding this kind of interesting to read. I'm getting the distinct impression that for a majority of people posting tot his thread, the harder it is to figure out "what" the image is the higher they will score it.
I don't see it that way; for me, if the image makes me ask "What the heck is that?" or "What's going on here?" then it's done the job. I don't think there's any real value in making the image so obscure nobody could figure it out. I mean, I don't see that as the "goal" here; making the viewer ask is the goal for me, not making it impossible for him to guess. I'm willing to concede (readily) that an image that represents a real enigma may be the best of the shots, but it won't (in my eyes) be the best because it's more of an enigma than other images, but because it's a great photograph in its own right.
To sum it up, as far as I'm concerned if the image makes me ask the question, it meets the challenge with flying colors. The rest of it will be photographic quality, for me.

Well, thank you! :-D I agree with bearmusic, as usual. I think my shot won't beg the question "What?" so much as the question "What the F@$&?"

Just sent in my first "last minute" entry. A picture of me.. thinking WHAT would fit for What? challenge. I like the idea.. not the result, really. If I can make it to 5.0 I'll start eating mushrooms. |
