This is an old trick I use for film scanning. Whenever dust is spotted on film, instead of going through the traditional painful cleaning process, I use a product called Tack-It by Faber-Castell sold in stationars (surprised!). Just wash your hands with soap, tear a small bit and held it by a pair of tweezers, then stick the dust out one by one. It leaves absolutely no residue (unless you have oily fingers) and far cheaper and easier than any fliud based methods imho. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I've never thought of this. Very good imagination :)

But a caution warning must be said:

Although it might be very good for picking up the dust, it might leave a oily tipe of stain. I've used this product and other like it from another brands (UHU and other glues also make them). They are used to fixate things like posters and other non heavy stuff. They are very ised in congress posters presentation. I use it when I do proofs to present in weddings after the ceremony to gests.

But in order to the doe don't dry out one of its components its some sort of oil. And you can feeel it if you follow the doe instructions. When it is out of the box it is a bit stiff, and you should smash it with your fingers a few minutes so it can warm and become less stiffer and be full sticky. After you done this you can feel a bit of oil residues in your fingers.

Probably if you're using it out of the box probably ou didn't notice this but caution must be held.

I have noticed similar products of other brands could leave some residue, but not this particular one as far as I can tell after years of practice (on film). I have been pretty obsessed of cleanness and this product never causes me any trouble so far. What I have discovered is, whenever there was any hint of oil left behind, it was caused by mishandling (oily fingers). I even use this product to remove all oily residue on my A80's LCD. Works like magic.

Some people owning Fuji S series dSLR at the Fuji dSLR forum from dpreview like to use Scotch Magic tape to clean their sensors. Stick it on and pull it off. Search that forum for details.
