More than 12 hours into the Garbage Challenge and no one started a thread...so I thought I would. =)
Let's talk trash!
Dumpsters, landfills, that bin under the sink, street-side, litter, the unidentifiable stuff in the fridge, refuse, cast-offs, trimmings and the weird goo that comes out of the Thanksgiving Turkey before you cook it... |

No one?
Personally, with already twice as many entries in "landscape" than in "garbage" I think this is going to be the one to enter! |

I thought, however, that the primo landscapes may go into the Free Study IX as that is a more "coveted" award. It will be interesting to see how that one pans out.
I'm thinking about garbage though, but I haven't been hit by inspiration yet. |

I could enter any of my shots - they're pretty nearly all garbage anyway.

*the dark side of me thinking*
Now, if only I can get my roomate drunk enough to throw him in the garbage, I will get close to a ribbon :)

Perhaps you could toss something he values into the dumpster...say, a 5-dollar bill? |

Living right outside New Orleans right now, I think I have an unfair advantage in the "garbage" challenge, and therefore must respectuflly disqualify myself.... ha ha ha ha ha.

I heard a rumor that if they don't have enough entries in these two challenges, they will be combined into "Landfill" |

Maybe I could throw a couple of my kids in the garbage with at least half of what is in their room ... no wait .. that would make a landfill! |

For a few, brief hours, landscape and garbage were neck and neck....
But garbage has, once again, fallen behind making it the most desirable of the two open challenges to select!
Why garbage, you ask?
1. Everyone has it! Few will appreciate it until you show them your point of view.
2. It's everywhere! How many of us live next to a beautiful vista, after all?
3. There will be less entries--which means (in my non-empircal calculation) that there will be an increased chance of receiving quality comments.
This is the challenge to enter! |

Unless, of course this is a crafty womenly ploy to make us all think that we should enter Garbage challenge, thereby leaving the way clear cos you have really entered Landscape challenge...
Or perhaps it is a double bluff?? Or a triple bluff!!

All I can say is, most women would push a man toward a thing knowing that he will reject it and go for the other option and then go herself for the direction she pushed for in the first place without much fear of competition....
....or not.
