You notice that the photo you are critiquing has violated the challenge rules. What do you do?
For the record, I gave the critique as though the image were legal, but did notice that in the editing steps listed, the photographer had listed steps that violated the rules. There are a few reasons for this, but I feel bad about it, I recommended a DQ after writing the critique.
Questions:
Would you have given the critique or just gone for the DQ request?
Would it have affected your critique?
Would you ignore it since the challenge is over?
I really am interested to hear some honest responses to the questions.

I tend to treat the critiques that are part of the Critique Club to be based on the quality of the image without reference to the challenge (rightly or wrongly). Though I would do as you did and request a DQ from the challenge in which it was entered.

I'm not in the critique club, but if I were in your position, I would give the critique and recommend the DQ. Perhaps this could be followed up with a PM to the photographer concerned, outlining the situation.
