I am curious if anyone has found any other good micro stock sites. I have found a good number but there are only 5 sites that really produce. The others are more work than they are worth (for the time being)

Ones worth considering

Dreamstime
Istockphoto
Canstock
Shutterstock
Big Stock Photo
123 Royalty Free

Ones which still seem too slow
Fotolia
Stock Expert
Gimmie Stock
ScanStock
Stock Photo Media

And that about sums it up. Shutterstock is by the far the best in regards to ease up uploading, sales, and time processing images. They are also the best as far as referral rewards. Anyhow, if you know of other sites.. good or bad post them here, and if you have had other experiences with the ones I have commented on, please post that too.

Greetings,
I've got a handfull, ok 4 handfulls of images on ImageVortex.com, they're new, only been around about 2 or 3 months. However, they do offer photographer set pricing ranging from 30-300$ an image, buyer request emails (mass mailing to all photogs looking for a certain image, and other goodies that the others do not seem to have. The downside is that so far I've had over 100 views, but no purchases, others (as stated in this thread //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=277272&highlight=vortex ) have had similar experiences, they seem to be about average on acceptance times, and perhaps a bit harder than average on approvals. Now all they need is some customers, they're supposed to be doing a massive marketing run soon, so we will see.....

Hadn't heard of PhotoStockMedia before.......Tyler, how have you found it there?

I've concentrated mainly on iStock, DT....a small port at SS, sales gently trickling along at CanStock.

yeah, canstock trickles along

i am not sure what i think of stock photo media. I have quite a few images with them as they were easy to upload and have had 1 download with a few hundred images online (only for a few weeks now)... but they are a bit slow i think

if i were you i would increase my uploads at shutterstock. They seem to be really picking up now. also check out 123 royalty free. I make as much there as i do at dreamstime or istock

Thanks for the info. I have concentrated on
SS,
Istock &
dreamstime.

Returns are in that order.
If I get the few hundred photos to process out of the way, I might have to try some of those others.

does anyone have any first hand experience with ALAMY? I registered, but a little hesitant to submit any files.

It seems like some people are getting some allright downloads at fotolia... I have only a few files there so far with no downloads but it might be worth checking out. I would put more files up there, except they have a very laboursom editing info procedure for your files (despite the ftp upload which is very nice)

Well, it was easy enough to upload to. I wrote to them and got a temporary ftp address, and uploaded all my files one night. Since then i have edited the catagories on almost 600 of them. I have only had 1 downlaod in 2 weeks though... so they are a little slow to say the least.

So, if it wasn't so easy to upload i would say it isn't worth it... but they COULD get better. I don't think i will add any more images until i see some steady downloads.
