| Does the 550EX recognise the focal length on those lenses? |

I can't speak from experience, but it ought to. If the focal length shows up in the EXIF data the camera is reading it and should be able to transmit the data to the flash. I know the camera reads the focal length info on my 28-75 Tamron, 'cuz it's in the EXIF, so by extension it ought to work fine witht he flash.

The focal length for both of these lenses shows up in the Exif, so I hope it´ll work.

| I used the 580EX with the Tamron 28-75, worked great, I am sure it will work with the 550EX as well. |

| I have used both the 550 and the new 580 with the Tamron 28-75. Works great. |
