Cool idea! I'm reading through to see if I can provide anything.
My list:
1. Digital SLR
2. AB studio lights (not picky, just something to start with)
3. extra battery for my 717
4. A nice digital point and shoot (that doesn't eat up batteries!)
(for my 11 yr old)
5. A tenor sax (for my hubby)
6. logan 650 or similar mat cutter
7. extra flash / sync flash to go with my hv1000 for my 717
8. A nice professional looking portfolio / album (plain or wedding)
9. Studio backdrop stand (preferable portable)
10 A professional looking photography website

Judy I might be able to help you with #10. If you have a domain name or can get one, I know where we can set one up for free for 6 months, then it's $6.99 a month after that. Or if you have the space and just looking for graphics and set up, I'll be happy to help you there too. Just send me a PM or email me. |

Matt, this is a WONDERFUL idea - a truly festive and generous idea!
If I see any wishes I can fulfill I'll do my best, though I gave my legit Photoshop Elements away already to an online friend from another forum.
My own wish list?
I'd like people to make a more serious effort to recycle their waste, cut down on their energy consumption, use less fossil fuel, use their buying power to encourage companies to provide products with less waste packaging by choosing such products over more wasteful ones, reduce the food miles travelled on their behalf by buying locally grown produce wherever possible (even if it's a touch more expensive or a touch more inconvenient to obtain it)... I'd like to have the strength to be better at all these things myself too.
I'd LOVE someone to buy a gift acre of land in my name (or even in their own, or as gifts for their own friends and family): World Land Trust
I'd also love these trees to bought either in my name or anyone else's:
A fruit tree...
More trees...
At this time of year people often remember those less fortunate than themselves and do donate more generously to charity. Animals, particularly wild ones, tend to get overlooked. I'd be chuffed to bits if people would simply visit the website of a charity I support regularly, David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, and read a little about what they do. Just visit and read. If you'd like to donate, that would be wonderful, but your awareness is what I'm looking for right now.
Incase anyone starts wondering if I'm a little strange in the head I certainly have lots of things I want for me too. Let me list a few of those.
I'd quite like one of the Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens Mark I (rather than Mark II). Now only available second hand. Mostly because my hubby wants it and it'd be sooo cool to be able to give him one unexpectedly!
I'd love to sell more of my prints directly to customers, as I can then sign the mount, which makes it more personal and rewarding. Of course I'd also like to sell more via stock agencies too but I have a good idea of what I need to do more of to make that happen.
I have been searching and searching for a copy of Painted Wolves, Wild Dogs of the Serengeti-Mara by Jonathan Scott but it's no longer in print and second hand copies are hard to find. The one time I saw one it was waaay outside my price range.
I would also love Wild Africa by Patrick Morris but I can afford that myself and it's on my wishlist for the next time I get an Amazon voucher from family for Xmas or a birthday!
One of my dreams is to meet one of my all-time heros, David Attenborough. I don't think anyone here can help with that but I tell you what, it wouldn't just make my day, month or year, it'd be one of the most exciting things in my life!
I'd like my hip pain to go away.
I'd LOVE Darmuid Gavin to do my garden - almost got onto the show once but we didn't make the final selection. Whilst he's at it could his mate Lawrence do our bedroom? (He's much better when he's got a proper budget than when he's constrained to £200 for the entire room!) This seems quite a boring one but I can't tell you how much time I can spend watching TV shows about his his gardens and dreaming, wishing, dreaming the next one to be done will be mine. I tell you, I think I'd pee my pants if this happened!
I'd like a 5D or better still a 1DS Mark II (who wouldn't) and loads of L glass. Ooh and with a carbon fibre tripod so I could carry it around with me - I don't like to carry much weight as the hip hurts so I seldom take a tripod out with me.
I'd like a new electric foot warmer with massage settings.
I'd love to get a commission for wildlife photography from a magazine, paper or, better yet, can you imagine, from NG?!
I'd rather like to win the lottery (big) so I could stop doing IT stuff (I don't mind it, mind) and work on both photography and voluntary work instead. There are so many projects I want to support and be involved with.
I'd like Hotel Chocolat (the Chocolate Taster's Club people) to make me an honourary taste tester.
I'd like to get back to Africa and the Antarctic, two favourite destinations.
But more than any of these things, more than anything else, I'd like someone to find a cure for MS right now, before it's too late for one of my loved ones and I'd like to have access to it for them straight away.

I updated with your list Kavey and thanks! It isn't my idea originally, but I thought we could adapt it very well to the DPC world and I see it's already beginning in the first few hours to work! :D
Harrison - that's awesome - if I see anyone with that on their list and you don't see it, I'll let you know too.

I'd much rather you included my requests for people to buy an acre of land or trees (with links) than the stuff for myself... those are at the top of my list and people may be looking for gifts for their loved ones this month and not have ideas and be willing to use those links... their purchases don't have to be in my name, though that'd be cool also!
Thanks

Matt, if you notice any UK based folks looking for traditional dark room paper, for black and white printing, let me know. I'll keep checking back on the list to see if I can help with anything.
PS Would be helpful to include the locations of people in the summary so we could work out whether we could help or not where we might be considering giving bulkier items.

I feel bad wishing for things...I have three kids so I work my a$$ off to make sure their wishes are filled first. BUT...if I had the extra $ for myself, I'd wish for:
1. A decent flash for my 10D... something that works and won't burn up when I use it for an hour (like my Sunpak did)
2. A plain muslin backdrop and maybe one light I could use at the daycare for portraits of the daycare babies...their moms are all teenagers, so they don't get their pictures made very often so I'd love to be able to do some decent ones throughout the year.
