Canon EOS-10D

Hi,
I had a a Lexor 512mb Canon 10D with 108 pics ( RAW & j-peg), only 55% full and when I uploaded, using
iPHOTO on G5 ( 1,6 GHz Single, 1.25 Gb RAM) the program uploaded 52 fine , but, Then gave me a 'unreadable data" dialog box. So, I took CF card to commercial dealer and they got them all with some 'photo recovery' program ( of course. they charged a pretty penny to burn them on a cd. What gives?
