I think you mean Izod. Polos were around in the sixties and seventies and are not unique to the eighties. They were expensive then too.

No way! My kids wouldn't touch Izod. Polo or nothing. And make sure the horse had four legs. The knock-offs had three!

You must have had some preppy kids. Everyone I knew in the eighties was wearing T-shirts or flannel with blue jean or leather jackets. The kids in my neighborhood would have thrown rocks at a kid if he walked down the street with a Polo shirt on.

Cute list...quite a few that belong to more than just the 80's/90's.
Fun read however. ;^) Thanks!

Even in my little bitty east Texas town, we wore Polo, Izod, Jordache, Sergio Valente, Sassoon, Z Cavaricci (OMG), and Member's Only... we were some preppy-looking hicks. ;)
I'm surprised the list didn't include such gems as the babydoll socks (with the lace around the edge) with high heels, Aqua-net or Rave hairspray, leg warmers, knickers (not the panties, the pants that went to the knee), and "like OMG, gag me with a spoon." Not that I would have ever committed such fashion and verbal crimes. Nuh-uh...not me. ;)

I remember kids wearing Jordache in the late 70's, but by the time the early eighty were going well everyone was in straight leg Levis with the cuffs "tight rolled". I grew up in a tough NJ neighborhood though.

I remember those days...just music videos - no stupid shows, no commercials...just the videos and the original veejays. Oh how I loved Mark Goodman. :)
