Sorry if I was too lazy to find existing answers already posted...
I've been coming to 'visit' for over a year but have only just registered. Can photos only be submitted to challenges? It seems some people just post pictures under galleries whenever they want -- am I wrong?
If so, I am not clear on how to submit a photo to a gallery, or a challenge for that matter.
Sorry, maybe your answers will help other visitors too.

| DPC hosting goes along with the paid membership -- you get 25MB here (not counting any print images). There are other benefits too ... |

Click 'My Portfoloi' under the 'My Home' tab at the top of the page. It will take you to a page that is easy to navigate through to upload your images to your portfolio.
Entering challenges is a matter of clicking on the link 'Submit Photos' under the 'Challenges' tab next to the 'My Home' tab.
Just play around with these pages, like I said: they are easy to find your way through.

| And when you do go to submit for a challenge, a good idea to go to the menu bar at the top, under 'Learn', and check out the tutorial on preparing and submitting images for challenges. It will help immensely with sizing issues and such, which sometimes give new users a little trouble. And if you do have some problems, don't be afraid to ask in the forums, or you can even pm me. Welcome, good luck and have fun :-) |

If you join you get 25mb of portfolio space and can post pics via a thumbnail method - like this
As a registered user, you have to do this way:
as a link
a picture is here

100k insertion...smaller than most challenge entries...
I try to keep most of my online pics to 80-100k or often less.
I sometimes see Mb files posted into threads...

100k is great if it's the only image on the page. When you get into forums, a 100k image posted could turn into several hundred with quoting, not to mention if more than one image is posted.
I believe GeneralE made the case in another thread about restricting the size of images in the forum. The trouble is, there's no guidelines. |
