P

I'm with Pauline on this.

Besides, I don't see what relevance that website has to the original post.

I'm not endorsing anything. Personally, I don't feel that ones personal beliefs or ways of life matter much here -- as long as they keep their feelings to themselves, it shouldn't be an issue -- it's just when people make broad, racist statements against me that I take offense to...

Heck, someone here can hate all Americans, whites, shaved-heads, blue-eyed people, but as long as you don't include me in some racist comment, I could care less.

Personally, that should be up to his parents whether or not they chose to use some type of internet protection software -- they do have those programs around and they will block sites that fall on a certain list -- and no doubt, that site would be on the list...

its kinda interesting that the thought that something is 'racist' comes to mind so easily. Even a small comment pushed someone to question that if the comment is racist or not.
We in 'inferior' nations hardly ever ponder if something is 'racist'. I guess this is something 'american'. If you live in america, its quite possible to think things with these angles too.

Please, the kid has already shown that he's interested in learning and chances are he won't suddenly jump out and join a supremacist group because of a random site on the Internet. He's probably already been exposed to the fact that people have those beliefs in classes at school, or should have at any rate, and possibly even pop-entertainment.

However, I *do* fail to see any relevance of the site to the current thread.

From the dictionary:
race: A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution

Being an American is a race that can be broken down into many other categories, but for the most part, because of the way the rest of the world views America and Americans, one who is 'anti-America' can definately be considered a racist...

(link removed)

have a look around.

Yeah, just who I look to for my information, a bunch of white supremacist, xenophobic whackaloons.

David,

I assume that the point of including the link that you inclided in your post is that there are some who consider Americans to be a race, and that point is fair and valid.

While the site that you linked to certainly drives that point home, I think that point has been made and that there is no further benefit to having the link in this thread.

No problemo Terry...had I been asked to remove it by a site council member, I would have gladly...I'll leave my personal feelings on whether or not it should be allowed out of this conversation.

I don't need the link to prove that being an American is a race...all I need is the dictionary:

race: A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution

Demetrius, to answer your question specifically the one that you asked in the first place, Yes there is a 'Style' of art that can apply to photography as well - it's called Americana. Americana art often reflects folk or pop art of the past in our country and is not to everyones liking.

Hope this helps in some small way.
