Just got my new SLR in and spent about 20 minutes with it... this sucks..but it means potential... im really excited about learning..
Any tips on things to study first are greatly appreciated!

good lighting helps...a lot.
EDIT: can you study patience?

Sweet! Congrats on the new toy ;) I would practice shooting outside first. Read about f-stops, exposures, etc. BTW, set your clock right ;) |

definitely all the stuff you mentioned previous... as deapee so elegantly mentions... lighting goes along way... so I am sure thats where I will start

I pretty much started playing around with it. First it was snapshots of the dogs and our daughter. Then it was the sunset. Pretty much snapshots at first then I started getting into the technical stuff. I'm doing a lot of emotive portraits of my daughter, animals, still life here and there, scenery. Best thing I ever got to go with my camera was a tripod- hubby bought one for me for Christmas.
Read the manual, learn the settings ect. And just have fun! |
