Am I missing something? It looks like your last challenge entry was almost 3 years ago. ;) Gotta enter to get the score... |

I'd be happy with just entering ... still too nervous of critical disdain - I'd be happy with a 4.7 !!
If entering is ONLY about getting a good score maybe I will never submit ?

Go for it! (She says, knowing full well it's incredibly addictive no matter how many times your pictures get mediocre scores....)
Really, the big thing it does for me is make me go out and shoot more. I find myself looking at things differently these days - was riding with a friend this afternoon and commented on the turtles and the egrets in the pond and she said "You're looking for pictures, aren't you?" I've got her looking too! Now I just need her to get her camera out once in awhile - she got a nice new P&S for Christmas.
So give it a shot! (Heh, pun intended.) You never know til you try, and a 4 something won't kill you - I know. :-) |

I put mine back in, its kinda outta the box, but oh well. I just fear the DNMC voters, they killed my motion panning entry. Here goes nothing again:P Screw the scores....

Just curious why it is bad to have the images in 7 be a bit title dependent? We are dealing with somewhat abstract ideas, at least in the virtues. Other than the obvious charity and faith, the others will be difficult to depict without some guidance in the title. If you want to really explore the 7 Heavenly Virtues, and take pictures depicting those ideas, you have to step out of the box and guide the voters with your title. I will not score badly because I need the title to give me some direction. I am looking for interesting and emotional images. I expect the challenges to both be exciting and interesting. So I say run with your image, don't worry about the title dependency, and may we all have luck when the voting begins. |

And let's hope the voters take the time to open all the images and not just glance through the thumbnails. :-)

You can't vote off thumbnails anyway, you have to open the image to get the voting screen. Once you have voted on an image, you can adjust the vote, or add a comment, from the thumbnail display.

Yes, but I suspect the "pick and chosers" just flip through the thumbnails, then open and vote on enough to meet the 20%.
And Doc, you gotta feel better about sticking your entry in now - your finish in Broken should keep that average up. :-) All your fault I stayed up for rollover, you know. Had a good guess which one was yours and didn't have to look far to see where it placed. |

Eh, we're skeptical of ribbon winners, but check my comment in the Virtues thread - there are exceptions. :-) |
