I did a quick search but couldn't find anything here.

After a few words with my household contents insurer today I'm thinking of going with a photographer insurance company. I'm about to google UK companies but hearing who others use can only help.

Any help, advice gratefully received.

Actually I wouldn't mind opening up a new thread here about this... I'm shopping around for professional insurance now, anyone have any experience in the UK?

In the end I went back to my home contents insurers, I currently have £20k of home contents insurance with £4k 'off property' insurance (and £500 of plant/bonsai insurance). All of which has accidental damage coverage (not the plants of course).

Today I added 3 itemised bits for 'on/off' property coverage, the 1DMKIIn, 10-400L IS ISM and 70-200 f/2.8 L IS USM (£4679), these three items cost an additional £42pa to insure with a £50 excess. I'm pretty pleased with that :)

lol Mike, had the 1D about a month now and love everything about it (other than now I'm getting used to the buttons/functions). I think I'm underpaid but my boss thinks differently. Am off to Scotland with it in a couple of weeks (hence the insurance top up) and looking forward to some great images, especially with the 17-40 and the 1.3 crop factor.
