Anyone who lives in southern hemisphere, please raise your hands. I don't think I'm the only one who gets itchy about this week challenge on "Summer Shots". Not that I am complaining that I cannot do anything about it because I live in Australia but I think the challenge should be more global. No offence.

Don't worry about it...I live in the northern hemisphere and I haven't seen the sun in over 2 weeks and there is rain in the forecast for most of the next week. What can I do? Take a picture of the rain drops falling into the pool?

None taken. Of course, you could dust off your "studio" and use this as an opportunity to practice "set up" shots. Or you could skip a challenge.

It is summer here, for me, though, and I don't suppose my opinion matters much.

Pong - Another Sydney sider here. How about we drive out to western NSW and take photos of the drought affected areas. I'm sure we could fool those from the northern hemisphere into thinking they were summer shots :)

That's not a bad idea at all.

I am also from Sydney. With the weather we have been having lately I don't think we even need to drive out to the drought effected areas. We have had glorious weather (except for today of course) lately - not very wintery at all.

As a northerner who is pounded by snow and ice for nearly 6 months of the year, I have no sympathy for you as you nearly live in the tropics! You live in paradise (wink, wink!). I'm so jealous!!!!!!

We have had a very cool summer -- our lows at night are your Winter highs!! Ahhh!

You live a beautiful place. I have family in Canberra and a cousin in Sydney.

I live in Western Europe and we're getting roasted for weeks now! Wish I could beam myself to a cooler place right now :)

I've stopped complaining about our heat wave (35C + 90% humidity) after hearing about the 40+ temps in London and Paris. I very much appreciate central air.

One take on this season's challenge would be to show a season indirectly.

i.e. Winter - indoor picture with blazing fire, comfy chair, good book and a mug of hot chocolate (possibly laced with something else)

You might get away with a snow picture if you title it something like "August in Australia".

You have one nice advantage over us summer-in-August folks. You get to have Christmas on the beach!!
