I have been a member for two years now and in my second year I have not participated in challenges because of time or should I say the lack thereof. However, I do participate in the judging of photos for the challenges. Over the past two days I have judged the photos in the "Frame" challenge and "Complimentary Colors" challenge and I would just like to say a few things.
The photos in the "Frame" challenge for the most part were awesome and I gave out more good marks than mediocre or bad. Lots of people had great ideas and the photos were mostly of excellent quality. However, in the "Complimentary colors" challenge I found most of the photos were sub-standard and it just amazes me that people think that any photo will do as long as they make a title that matches the challenge. While the pictures might meet the challenge in one sense this is a photography site and if the pictures don't hold up photographically than I will mark you down even though your colours are okay. On that note though I found some strange combinations of colours that people seem to think are complimentary.
