Hello everyone, I have just joined this site because my friend has been nagging me to participate on DPC, he says it will help me to improve my photography so today I signed up and wanted to say "hello" to everyone.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride. There is indeed a lot to learn here, about photography and about human nature. :-)

Welcome Tony, to DPC. Be prepared for a lot of valuable photography information, you will learn a lot if you spend any time here on this site.

Also, you might want to be prepared to spend some money when you start finding out about all the latest cool equipment and gadgets that everybody seems to want to get and show off.

BTW, who is your friend who turned you on to this site, surely another DPC'er?

Upload some shots...come to the forums and ask for some critique...don't take any critique personal...and you will soon be on your way to uploading better and better shots with each learning by critique from the other...

KS

PS...if you plan to enter any challenges, check the date and time on your camera NOW !

I was introduced to DPC by my son. That reminds me, I've been meaning to severely punish the kid for that. :)

Welcome Tony,

You're going to like it here. It's a really unique site. I've looked around and haven't found ANYTHING like it.

This is the place to come and learn. I know my photography has really improved since joing (a little over a year ago). I've still got a very long way to go, but I'm slowly getting there.

When you have questions, these forums are a fantastic place to come to get help and answers.

Most of all, have fun.

THAT IS A VERY VALUABLE PIECE OF ADVICE!!!! You don't want to be disqualified from your first challenge entry because of a wrong setting.

Welcome to DPC Tony. HOpe your friend told you...you MUST enter a self nude shot into either a challenge or portfolio within the first 30 days here. ;-)

When you're done making coffee for the others, I'd like a Mt.Sunrise: Diet Mt. Dew with a shot of tequila (or two) and a shot of grenadine. Thanks!

Thanks for all your very welcome comments and whitty remarks. With reference to teas, coffee,s, tequilla's etc, I would not want to put my predecessor out of a job so on that note, mine is a martini shaken not stired.
