I am off to Egypt on the 20TH May are there any tips or hints for me. |

Uh, don't change lenses during a duststorm? : )
Probably the most important thing when traveling to hot places is to have (and drink) an adequate supply of safe water. Traveling anywhere, keeping yourself and your equipment safe can be a concern.
You'll probably want some way to offload photos from your camera cards, since it's a land filled with photo-ops. |

I went to Egypt in february a couple years ago and it was already hot so I can only imagine now. Drink lots of water. I know it sounds silly but trust me, dehydration is a very seious condition. Wear sunscreen....lots. As for the touts, a simple but frim "no" will do most times. If that doesn't work, give them a taste of their own medicine....when you see one approaching you, start asking him "where you from? wanna buy souvenier my friend?" It may not always work but it is sure to give you a good chuckle! LOL
As far as photo related advice, avoid changing lenses as much as possible.
