Try your local library, they often have archives of historical images of all sorts.

Do you mean a real wedding album from the 1800's?
I doubt there's any such thing aside from possibly a single picture of the couple.
Keep in mind that the state of the art photographic process back then was a wet plate process that made even one exposure a trial.
Also, weddings back then were much more spartan affairs than the spare-no-expense festivals common today.

From the 1800's? I'd refer you to the library and the NY Times society pages for anything after 1900, but I don't recall seeing any wedding pictures prior to 1900.
I saw a picture of Laura Ingalls and Almanzo Wilder's wedding, and she's wearing dark colors. Neither of them are smiling. |

You do have to remember that candid and action photography in the 1800's was impossible.
Film was way too slow at that time, so all shots had to be posed and perfectly still for extended periods of time. You won't find any PJ style photos like today.

When I was working on my geneology several years ago, I spent weeks combing through the NY Times marriage sections (obits too). The earliest I started seeing wedding pictures in there was around 1915 or so. |

So that's why they're hard to find...they don't exist.
I'm in the wedding photo biz now and thought it might be cool to show very old photos to demonstrate how they last forever sorta...
like this video (take the tour) value of photos - about 5 minutes long. very cool.

I remember coming very close to purchasing an old photo ablum at an antique store once, they weren't wedding photos specifially and probably more like 1920's or something, but very cool anyway. I've seen several things like that since then at antique stores, you may get lucky and find someone's wedding album. |

I just got 7 old photos off ebay - i'll see if they'll work.
So when did 'modern' wedding photography begin? As something other than 2 or 3 formal pics?
Hmmm.. off to google that i suppose.
