My Rebel and lenses have been sitting in my closet since I got my Panasonic. I've been going back and forth about selling the lot, but never could quite make up my mind. I got it out yesterday, took some shots have now decided I'll just never use it. I'm not a professional and never will be. The shots I'm getting from my P&S suit me just fine, and the prints look great.
So here's my dilemna, any opinion on whether I should sell everything as a "package" or piece by piece?
Thanks for any input - it has been a hard decision and one I've been putting off. |

I think you're likely to net more by posting them seperately - but depends.... what all do you have?

Yeah, I thought that - all the lenses are listed in my profile. I also have 2 wired remotes, 3 batteries, battery grip, huge camera bag (can't remember kind of the top of my head, but it's the kind that holds a laptop too). |

Definintly sell piece by piece, you have alot of lenses, and quite a few nice ones, If I was you I would bundle the 300D w/the kit lens, then sell the others seperate.. |

yep
you could offer them here, and //www.fredmiranda.com works well - neither will hit you for fees like ebay so try these first. seems to work for me 50% of the time.

I just wanted to say that I know what you're going through. I never graduated to the DSLRs, but my Olympus C-8080 was too much for my lack of patience. I sold it on ebay a few weeks ago and bought a much smaller point and shoot. I'm much happier now. I find I take a lot more pictures with a camera that I can stick in my purse and have readily available any time.
As for your question, I think separately would bring in more money. I packaged everything I had because I didn't want the hassle of shipping things to multiple locations, but that was just a hassle that I, personally, didn't want to deal with.
Anyway. Just wanted to relate to someone on this site. ;) Good luck! |

I agree that you will get more for them if you sell the items separately rather than bundled.
If you're going to sell on eBay then spend time making a good ad and you will be repaid in more and higher bids. Describe the items as well as you can, mention any defects no matter how minor, mention why you are selling, link to specification pages on Canon's website and/or review pages on one or more reputable websites, include photos. You don't have to do lots of fancy fonts and colours and slick marketing talk - just decent information.
The time and effort is worth it - I've sold things for somewhat more than the same items from other sellers, simply because I put some work into the ad to help people feel confident about what they were bidding for. In some cases I've sold things for more than I paid for them on eBay!

I sold my Panasonic FZ10, and I really regret it. I loved that camera. If I hadn't gone professional, I'd still be happily using it now.

I know how you feel. I have a D70 and a *ist DL2. A friend who works for Sony came to my house a few weeks ago with a H2 and H5 and i was totally blown away by them. (especially the H5)
The colours were very vibrant, the picture ultra sharp and it was then i thought to myself that if i wanted such sharp and crystal clear pictures on either of my DSLR's then i would have to spend a fortune on lenses.
Im now beginning to wonder if there is any point in the Beginner to keen amatuer photographer actually buying a DSLR.
I know you cant beat the TTL and changing the lenses but if i was looking at it totally objectively then the H5 would win by a mile.
Im actually looking at selling either the D70 or Pentax and buying a H5 just purely to find something i hate about it so i can justify keeping the DSLR's and investing in better lenses. |

Tuckersmom, I think you could easily turn pro if you wanted too, but that's just my opinion.
Anyway, if you're really going to sell, I'd like to know what you want for this: Canon EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM |
