Going there this Friday, Any great shot locations? I have never been but would like to get some good canyon shots since they are lacking in my natural environment.

The whole area is rather picturesque. Avoid the middle of the day if can, the light certainly isn't the best at that time.
Make sure to go to Bonnie Springs. It's a little western town, complete with saloon, gold "mine", shows, and a hanging.
The whole thing is very cheesy, but lots of fun, and full of nice photo opportunities. |

No specific recommendations in Red Rock but you should also check out Valley of Fire State Park on the other side of Las Vegas.
Actually, I do have one recommendation. Check with a ranger when you first get there and find out where the burros have been seen lately. Helps a lot if you really want to see them. |
