I have some RAW images from a wedding portfolio, and in CS2 Bridge, the warning triangle on the pre-viewer becomes active.

I notice when I bring the images into Photoshop, certain portions of the images (whites) are now speckled with either yellow, red or cyan. No matter what I try to do, they canĂ¢€™t be removed.

I have ensured that the auto settings in the raw conversions are switched off, and also that the color space in both the camera and CS2 match. Yet, even though I cannot see these highlights in the Bridge ( I have highlights switched off), when I bring the image into CS2, this issue occurs.

Is there any easy way of correcting this as I really need to get the portfolio out soon.

to me that sounds like color noise, if you havent done so already

Filter>noise>reduce noise> then slide the reduce color noise slider over.

Thanks, but I don't believe this to be a noise issue. however, i did check that out to no avail.

It's more like a color clipping of some description!

To add a bit more mystery to the scenario, I've just tested this on a second machine I have access to and it didn't happen, which leads me to believe it to be some sort of setting issue.....

Any idea's.......

turn off display clipping. dunno how to do it, but i'm sure that's the problem.

reset photoshop to original settings, (i forgot how to do it so if someone could please refresh me that would be great)

At the top of the Camera Raw dialog box are little checkboxes called Highlight and Shadows - are those checked? If so uncheck them.

Hi There,

I figured it out.

I was shooting with a Canon 5D RAW (Adobe 1988)color space.

I changed this is ACR to ProPhoto (it has a wider gamut) and I also noticed that the shooting mode was [as shot]. I amended this for the internal shots to [flash] and [daylight] respectively.

I then changed the preferences in CS2 to match - and hey preseto - no weird psychadelic colours appearing on the white shirts/wedding dres etc.

Regarding the last reply, (uncheck the highlights etc) - I had already done that.
