I am trying to find out who if anyone might be interested in a GTG this October in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We have some very beautiful fall colors here. By holding the GTG in the Upper Peninsula, those in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois wouldn't be that far for traveling either. Of course, as always, all DPCers would be welcome.

As for lodging, we have some inexpensive hotels and motels. Also, for those who like to camp in RV's or tents, I have a decent size yard that you can set up in. I even have outside electrical outlets that the RV's can plug into.

EDITED TO ADD THE DATES: OCTOBER 14th - 15th
Edited to add that I can also put up a 2 or three people inside the house.

Well, assuming all goes well, gas isn't $8/gal and assuming I haven't gone bankrupt by then, I'll take dibs on a campsite in your yard.

I've lived in MI almost 15 years and have only been to the UP once, and that was in January. Pathetic, I know.....

Definitely interested! Like spazmo said, depends on gas and bankruptcy :-P
Also depends on which week-end, I probably couldn't do it if it is a MSU home game, unless I have a different job by then!

So put me down as not quite but entirely unlike a maybe! :-)

Conveniently residing in the UP I feel I may be able to attend, depending on status of fish runs.

I can bring my 30ft 5th wheel? Do you really have a 20amp service in your yard?

I have thought about going up there to shoot before but there just isn't an easy way to get there unless you have enough time to drive a long ways. Maybe thats what keeps it the way it is. An airport would be nice. :)

There is an airport - Sawyer International in Gwinn. It's about 30 minutes from my house.

I would like to fly up from Texas. Would it be mid week or over a week end. I have never traveled to shoot before. What would be the cost of getting form the airport to your house? I am looking to hear from you. : - )

Not a thing - If you are willing to fly from Texas, I'm willing to pick you up at the airport.

I checked out the schedule at work and this would have to be the weekend of October 14/15th as I work all the other weekends in Ocotober.

So for all those contemplating this the dates would be OCT 14th -15th

Sorry. I'll be up there near Marquette (in Ishpeming) around Christmas, if anyone is interested for a GTG then.

HUGE CHANGE OF PLANS!!!

I will be moving either in the end of September of begining of October.
This I will not be able to host a GTG in the Upper Peninsula.

I accepted a job at Mat-Su Regional Hospital in MatSu Valley, Alaska.
You are all more than welcome to come visit me there once I get settled.
Alfresco is still here in the U.P.....maybe he can do a GTG with everyone still? I am not speaking for him however. You would be best to ask him about it before showing up.
